Objective
The BIPV industry is developing rapidly in many parts of Europe, while in the Northern Dimension of the EU (i.e. the Baltic Sea Region with related countries) it is just starting to emerge. To achieve the goals of the Kyoto Protocol and the White Paper on Energy, BIPV exploitation has to take place in all countries of Europe. The main PV-NORD objective is to initiate a widespread exploitation of BIPV in the Northern Dimension. At the project end in 2005, at least 5MWp of grid-connected PV will be installed or planned in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway. The same year the Baltic States will also have their first BIPV projects under way.
