Remote control for improved reservoir management - demonstration project

Objectif

Current equipment for use down-hole in multilateral wells to optimise the efficient, flexible control and fluid flow is proving to have a poor reliability when operating in the harsh environmental conditions experienced down-hole. With the trend towards deepwater wells with their higher temperatures and pressures and harsher environments, there is a need for a new generation of technology to meet these requirements.

The EC-funded JOULE III research project entitled "Remote Control for Improved Reservoir Management" has researched and experimentally evaluated enabling technology for use down-hole in multilateral/multi-zone. A demonstration project is now proposed to take this work a major step forward.

The main objective is to prove and demonstrate, to potential user/operators, a system configuration for a new generation of highly reliably remote control systems for improved reservoir management using the latest technology and techniques resulting from the RECONFIRM project.
