Workshop "Environmental impact of oil transportation"

Objective

The main goals of the Workshop are: -creation of cooperation between scientist from European Union and NIS for solving of regional environmental problems;- exchange of information and experience on protection of the environment along the oil transportati on routes, -initiation of public movement and collaboration for joint solving of regional environmental problems of oil transportation. Main topics: -Environmental impact of oil transportation by tankers, pipe-lines, railway , -Oil s torage in the reservoirs parks, -Pollution sources in the terminals and pump stations, -Protection of fauna and flora along the oil transportation routes, -Environmental impact of construction of pipe-lines, -creation o f public movement and collaboration for solving of regional environmental problems of oil transport. Main discussions will be foxed to Caspian oil transportation. Participants- about 30, from Austria (1), Norway (1), Greece (1), Turkey (2), Israel-(1), G eorgia-(3), Kazakstan-(3), Ukraine(1), Russia (2), Azerbaijan- (15). Participant Organization: -Scientific Centers, Universities, Oil Companies, NGOs, Government and municipality.
