Exploitable results
In the growing European Market, masses of information and their exchange play a more and more important role in entrepreneurial activities. Easy access to important information is essential, especially for small and medium sized enterprises (SME). The WISE/E project has been set up for SMEs to get easy and comfortable access to relevant information. Objectives of the WISE/E project are:
support of an effective and wide dissemination of research and development (R&D) information;
support for partnership search (joint projects, etc);
improvement of technology transfer;
stimulation of joint R&D and encouragement of communication with the European Commission within the Fourth Framework.
These objectives are achieved by building up a widely spread information base (WISE/E information board) and by installation of local relay centres and gateways to this information board. To set up the WISE/E information board, the World Wide Web is used. SMEs and R&D sites can connect to the relay centres via modems.
