Teaching Evidence-Based Neurology in Europe: Cochrane Systematic Reviews in Practice

Objective

This proposed series of events aims to train young European neurologists touse evidence-based neurology and systematic reviews in clinical practice.Primary emphasis is placed on disseminating the Cochrane Collaboration'ssystematic reviews in neurology, inc reasing the number of new researchersparticipating in systematic reviews and evidence-based neurology, providinga uniform training outlet for professional neurologists across Europe, andexperimenting with an innovative training technique that combines lect uresof expert leaders with problem-based learning and critical-appraisalapproaches. The training workshops will be held in different European countries hostedby local Cochrane Collaboration entities. The Cochrane Neurological Networkwill coordinate the s eries of events, providing congruity between programsand standardisation of educational approaches. As a result we expect to be able to contribute to an increase in clinical efficiency and research potential of young neurologists, while at the end obtainin g an improvement in health care for neurological patients across Europe.'
