Objective
Nowadays there is a lack of reliable information about large scale utilisation of energy crops. This fact surrounds the specific utilisation of crops for energy generation with a high degree of uncertainty, and so, there is a lack of interest of the farmers in the energy crops. The scientific objective of this proposal is to obtain reliable data about all the processes related to the utilisation of crops as biomass for the generation of energy on a large scale.
The proposal aims to take, compile, compare and analyse concrete information of both the global process and each of its parts, paying special attention to the growing and the logistic of the raw material (in this case Brassica Carinata and Triticale), in order to decrease the market risk and uncertainty that surround this subject and to increase the interest of the actors related with it The technical objective of this proposal is to apply the obtained information to demonstrate and widely disseminate the viability of utilisation of energy crops.
