Laser manipulation of stochastic molecular processes

Objective

The project aims at carrying out measures for transfer of knowledge to a host university in a new Member State. Coordinator of the project is a former individual Marie Curie Fellow, who returns to Riga after five years of research in a partner organisation with the aim to establish a new laboratory and to initiate a new direction of research in his home country. Substantial scientific equipment will be transferred from a partner university to the host. This equipment, together with the arrangements and investment by the host organisation in the development of local infrastructure, will be used to establish a modern molecular beam laboratory and laser centre with flexible radiation sources.

The transfer of knowledge measures will be carried out in the context of the research work at the newly established laboratory, which will combine laser manipulation in molecular beams with novel developments of the stochastic theory of molecular complex formation to explore new ways of control of bimolecular fragmentation processes. A number of partner organisations with profound knowledge in related research fields will contribute to the rapid building up of a high level of competence at the host laboratory and to the initiation of new research directions.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
