Improvement of competitiveness of the labour market and its entities

Objective

The project aims at initiating cooperation among scientific partners from countries of the European Union, which will result in transfer of knowledge in the field of widely understood labour market. Implementation of the project will be based on its main objective: to improve competitiveness of the European labour market and its entities.

The project results will support implementation of priorities of the European Commission established in the Lisbon strategy: to cause the European economy to become the most competitive and innovative economy in the world by 2010. In order to achieve this objective the following scientific actions will be carried out: estimation of competitive properties of work resources in Europe, an analysis of behaviour of companies on labour market and their competitiveness together with an analysis of labour markets' competitiveness and factors affecting it. The total of works is planned for four years.

A practical objective of the transfer of knowledge is to raise potential of knowledge and skills of the project participants and to employ the project results for increasing competitiveness of labour markets of particular European countries and their entities. The objective will be achieved through developing recommendations tailored to the needs of labour market policy, developing and implementing programmes for human capital development (great attention will be paid to the segment of young people), initiating and/or expanding cooperation with labour market institutions and business as well as creating a training centre.

A significant element of the project will be common statistical research conducted by all partners the main task of which will be estimation of attitudes and behaviour of participants of European labour markets. The transfer of knowledge will consist mainly in common research and organization of series of meetings such as lectures, seminars, workshops, scientific conferences.
