Objective
Main objective of the proposed project MONSTER is the realisation of a low-cost system and a set of services directed to enable final users (airports, neighbouring communities) to deal with the airport noise problem. The technical goal of the proposed project MONSTER is to develop and validate a modular system comprised of a minimised network of monitoring sensors, dedicated models and supporting software, in order to evaluate the noise effects caused by the flight operations in the areas surrounding the airports.
MONSTER System will be based on two components with technological and innovative content. Its architecture will be articulated in two parts: MOE, an off-line design environment providing support for sensors network optimal design and MONSTER System, the on-line system performing the main functions: noise exposure modelling and evaluation; actual data acquisition and elaboration of the noise; correlations and violation monitoring, etc.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
