Development and implementation of regional innovation strategies in the Presov self-governing region

Objective

Main objective of the proposed project is development and implementation of the RIS - regional innovation strategy in the region of Presov. The project is built on transfer of existing methodology of RIS projects developed in existing RIS/RITTS projects into specific conditions of the Presov region. Project will identify local needs, consider existing innovation support services supply, create regional consensus of relevant institutions and stakeholders, and initiate development of new missing services.

Pilot actions specific for the region requirements (strategies for usage of Structural Funds, transfer of technologies and know-how, implementation of technologies in the field of renewable energy, inward investment attraction activities) will be prepare d and implemented with the assistance of EU RIS project partners. Workplan of the project consists of 5 workpackages (Stage 0 - Definition, Stage 1 - Analysis, Stage 2 - Definition, Dissemination and Management). Duration of the project is 32 months. Management process, methodology, action plan and pilot actions will be approved by Steering Committee, which will supervise the whole process.

The RIS project will be co-ordinated by the Presov Self-Governing Region and the activities will be performed by a consortium consisting of Regional Advisory and Information Centre Presov, RIS-experienced partners (Region Abruzzo, BIC Bratislava) and regional pilot actions experts from Austria (WIBAG - Regional Economy Development Agency of the Burgenland Region, European Centre of Renewable Energy).
