Objective
The High-Technology Business Incubator Varna in partnership with the Alliance of the regional authorities in the North-East Planning Region, the Bulgarian Ministry of regional development and public works, the University of Western Macedonia in Greece, t he Region of Liguria and the Region of Abruzzo in Italy will implement the project for elaboration of a regional innovation strategy for the North-East Planning Region of Bulgaria. The project overall objective is to create and sustain an environment fostering the innovations in the North-East Planning Region of Bulgaria through further development and improving the regional innovation policy.
The project goal corresponds with the "Research and innovation" theme of the specific programme, which addresses creation of innovation-friendly environment throughout the EU and stimulation of technological innovation and the setting up of innovative technology businesses. The project partners will provide support to the regional key actors for improvement and further development of regional innovation policy by focusing upon concrete actions and measures to secure the economic growth, the global competitiveness, employment and reduce of the territorial differences in the North-East Planning Region of Bulgaria.
The main emphasis of the concrete action plan will be put on the developed existing sectors and the emerging sectors of the regional economy in order to improve the innovation capabilities of the region and thus to contribute to its overall development. The regional innovation strategy will be the basis for sustainable RIS process and will improve the innovative capacity of the region. The proven experience of the three EU member regions in RITTS/RIS projects will allow the transfer of good practices and will ensure the successful implementation of the project tasks and the integration of the North-East Planning Region of Bulgaria into the European innovation culture.
