Résultats exploitables

Although in fabrication processes in the semiconductor industry the focus is almost purely on digital process technologies and in particular complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technologies, analogue functions are still crucial in some applications. To simplify the integration of analogue and digital functions, the project has devised new analogue design techniques which, in turn, have allowed the development of a library of analogue functions. A comprehensive set of high-end analogue cells for most current standard low-cost submicron digital CMOS process technologies are now available enabling low-cost mixed-mode designs to be built. New, advanced analogue design techniques and methodologies for CMOS focused on improving the digital characterizations of analogue elements. These have tended to be limited, neglecting effects such as modulation and precluding the use of standard simulation program with integrated circuit emphasis (SPICE) modelling techniques. Specific cells were modelled in both 0.7 micron and 0.5 micron CMOS technologies, building up a library to meet specific application and customer needs. This initially covered very fast converters, low-power and fast op-amps and filters, each implemented using different techniques for optimal performance.
