Objective
The objective of the VOICE II project is to put demonstration applications of the CIM Open Systems Architecture, CIM-OSA, defined in the AMICE project.
This project extends the work started in project 5510 (VOICE).
The approach will be to:
- integrate existing enterprise models of three applications (in car assembly, machine-tool manufacture and aluminium rolling and milling) with the prototype CIM-OSA integrating infrastructure
- implement the results in a production environment in car assembly, machine tool manufacturing and aluminium casting
- extend the models to incorporate equipment monitoring in all three applications
- incorporate advances in the CIM-OSA modelling and integrating infrastructure in the three applications.
The results will be demonstrated by large and small industrial users in production environments, and in pilot applications in research institutes dealing with parts of the production environment. The results will be exploited by the research laboratory partners in providing consultancy services and by the industrial partners in applying the CIM-OSA architecture to other manufacturing units in their companies.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
