Framework programme of Community activities in the field of research and technological development, (1990 to 1994)

The third Framework programme was based on the new Title VI, articles 130f to 130q, of the EEC Treaty, as outlined in the Single European Act adopted in 1987. The goal was to strengthen the scientific and technological basis of European industry and make it more competitive internationally by supporting research and technological development in enterprises, research centres, and universities.
