In-Process Tracking and Reviewing Approach

Objective

THOMSON-CSF develops complex systems in which the part played by software components is becoming increasingly important. In consequence, the company must ensure its position at the leading edge of scientific and technical software development.

One of the most effective means of enhancing the quality of the software product is a systematic application of in-process reviews during the front-end phases of the software development life cycle.

The INTRA project is therefore targetted at the realisation of this activity. In order to achieve these objectives, the project must first address the definition of the review process. The in-process reviews will be based on the 'defect removal process' already implemented within IBM and will be extended to the front-end phases of the software development life cycle. INTRA must then ensure the transfer of the newly defined process to the operational practices of real projects.

Through relevant projects selected in THOMSON-CSF Divisions, the INTRA experiment will focus on practices that will enable them to improve their quality process and better formalize the verification and validation activities across the whole life cycle.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
