Exploitable results
The EDIFACT messages Quotes, Orders, Order Responses and Services were examined, interpreted annotated and tested with regard to their suitability for the book trade. The EANCOM Standard was chosen as EDIFACT subset. An implementation manual was produced in close collaboration with EDITEUR.
The technical components for the standardized electronic communication were selected, implementated and tested as were transfer protocols and appropriate communication software.
The internal applications wereintegrated including software and hardware for the conversion of internal data structures into EANCOM and vice virsa as well as for the transmission via the X.400 service from AT&T.
