Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

Swan is a groundbreaking innovation in dermatology, since the invention of the dermatoscope 35 years ago. It serves as an augmented dermatoscope, offering high-definition full or partial body imaging with dermatoscopic definition, fully automated in just a few minutes.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

The project sits at the crossroads of hardware and software, seamlessly integrating multiple advanced technologies.

The scope of work encompassed the development of software for robotic planning and control, imaging, time optimization, and secure storage. Additionally, AI was designed to detect new and modified moles between patient visits.

Beyond these technical advancements, a primary focus remained on delivering a seamless and intuitive experience for both physicians and patients.

Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)

R&D efforts have delivered exceptional results, with the world's first high-resolution imaging system as well as an AI capable of detecting new or modified moles. Swan has the potential to redefine the standard of care in dermatology.
