Faire passer les véhicules autonomes à la vitesse supérieure
Dans le domaine des systèmes autonomes, les mesures reflétant le milieu environnant doivent être aussi précises que possible afin de promouvoir la sécurité. Financé par le Conseil européen de l’innovation, le projet Tripleye 3D Perception System offrira des solutions révolutionnaires pour le fonctionnement sûr et efficace des véhicules industriels autonomes. Plus précisément, il s’agira de développer un système de perception basé sur une caméra qui s’appuiera sur l’utilisation d’algorithmes pour fournir une analyse spatiale 3D avancée. Le coordinateur du projet, l’entreprise allemande Tripleye, améliorera ses piles logicielles et effectuera des essais en conditions réelles, ouvrant ainsi la voie à un avenir plus prometteur pour la technologie autonome. Cette innovation permettra de capturer les données spatiales 3D essentielles à l’automatisation avancée.
Objectif
The problem with today’s autonomous system architectures is that minimal changes in the camera alignment of less than 1 mm can lead to significant misalignments and invalidate measurements of the surrounding environment, leading to major safety concerns in autonomous vehicles. Tripleye has invented the COP (Circular optical perception) to solve this issue. The COP is a next generation camera only computer vision system that uses proprietary algorithms (named KIEV and RubberStereo) together with a fisheye camera to triangulate and capture high level 3d spatial components needed for advanced automation. Specifically, COP offers a revolutionary solution for the safe and efficient operation of earthmoving, material handling, and automated guided vehicles. During the proposed EIC project, Tripleye will look to upgrade its software stacks, integrate the system into material handling/earth moving machines in a real working environment for iterative testing.
