First modular, interconnected, data- and AI-driven software platform for the digitisation of patient care in the healthcare industry

Project description

Innovative platform for patient documentation digitisation

In Europe, there are approximately 37 doctors and 83 nurses per 10 000 people. Both groups spend 169 minutes daily on paperwork due to inadequate digitisation of patient care. The EIC-funded Digitising Hospitals For Better Patient Care project proposes a modular platform that is a plug-and-play solution to digitise the entire patient documentation and treatment process while generating fully structured medical data. The project aims to develop a workflow engine based on structured data and an AI-based diagnostic support system that assists healthcare professionals in diagnosis and treatment, streamlining the treatment process. The innovative platform connects over 40 hospital applications, saving 10 minutes per patient and improving care.

Objective

In Europe, there are 36.6 doctors and 83.3 nurses per 10,000 inhabitants. Both professional groups spend 169 minutes of their working time every day on administrative tasks as patient care is not properly digitized. With our modular platform, we offer the first plug & play solution to digitise the entire patient documentation & treatment process while simultaneously automatically generating fully structured medical data. It is the first holistic approach that networks all hospital departments, connecting more than 40 operable applications. On the basis of the unique structured data, we develop a workflow engine that fully optimises and automates the treatment process as well as an AI-based diagnostic support system that assists doctors and nurses in diagnosis and treatment. Our software saves up to 10 minutes on administrative tasks per patient treatment and drastically improves the quality of care.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
