Project description
The 3D experience without glasses
Simulated reality (SR) technology offers unparalleled resolution and brightness, facilitating touchless interaction with digital objects in a manner akin to reality. It resembles virtual reality but lacks the need for any wearable devices. This innovative technology delivers a unique and immersive 3D experience without the use of glasses. The EIC-funded Simulated Reality project will conduct the initial testing of an end-user product built on the minimum viable product version of the SR technology. The project will initially focus on end users within the design, engineering and rapidly expanding gaming sectors. It will extend its scope to encompass the online conferencing market.
Objective
Dimenco builds Simulated Reality technology, a revolutionary new form of spatial computing that combines lenticular light-field display technology, computer vision, integrated sensors and image processing algorithms, to experience realistic 3D objects in a virtual environment seamlessly. Simulated Reality enables touchless interaction with digital objects as if they were real, like in Virtual Reality, but without any wearables.
We license our technology to OEMs/ODMs, companies like Acer who just introduced to the market their first laptop built on SR. It is the first test end-user product built on the MVP version of our Simulated Reality technology.
Dimenco targets end-users in the design and engineering industries, and the tremendous gaming market, followed by the online conferencing market. Originating as a Philips spin-off, Dimenco now has a team of 41 inventors, HW&SW engineers, game developers and business managers who push the boundaries of technical possibilities.
