Objective
This project builds on four years long experience with similar projects with strong national and regional and international impact. The goals of the proposal are: (a) to scout for new talents for research and promote their enthusiasm through direct involv ement in research projects on an research institution, (b) to improve public understanding of research by exhibition of results in newly built technology object combining renewable energy and biotechnology and (c) contribution to overall attrractiveness of European Research Area by involvement of students and researchers from outside European Union (USA, Eastern Europe). These goals will be addressed by two major activities, (a) summerschools and student clubs and (b) exhibition and multimedia show for gene ral public and several smaller activities such as media promotion in media, on-line internet data transfer, presentations to secondary school teachers etc. The project will utilise the infrastructure of the Academic and University Center in Nove Hrady, the research institution with excellent record in basic and applied research located on the border between Austria and Czech Republic. The project infrastructure enables combination of scientific work, technology transfer, education, free-time activities and accomodation in one place thus enabling high impact focused promotional activities for a given period of time. The actors are one university institute (faculty level), one institute of the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic and one civil association working in synergy and utilising the best possibilities within their infrastructure and legal status. Data for content of the project will be provided also by partners involved in European research arena. International impact will be achived through collab orating institutions in USA (i.e. Princeton University), Canada and Eastern Europe.
