Objective
Based on results and experience already gained in different European activities, a group of regions in Europe have formed this project to address more specifically the needs and requirements of Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs) in High Performance Computing and Networking (HPCN). The main objectives of the project are:
- To introduce solutions based on HPCN to regional companies using case studies to demonstrate and promote its use;
- To identify the training needs in various industrial sectors, in order to organise future actions which will ensure efficient use and adherence to best practice.
To achieve these objectives case-study demonstrators and a promotion campaign will be undertaken. The aim of the case studies using already available software will be to show effectively the potential of HPCN to SMEs of each region. Once these case studies have been implemented, they will be used as demonstrators in the promotional campaign. The proposed case studies include fault diagnosis in gas turbines, applications from the construction industry, image processing for optical WORM discs and tolerance analysis of mechanical assemblies.
