Co-operative research in information technology

Objetivo

The aims of the projects following the success of CRIT-1 pilot run in 1992 CRIT-2 is aiming at the main objective to stimulate a number of competitively selected Polish IT research sub projects to extend their links to research environments in the EU.

The project is operated in two distinct phases. The main goal of phase 1 was to select highly innovative Polish sub projects. The evaluation process was organised and conducted by the consortium of partners under an advisory guidance of the panel of experts both from Poland and from the EU.

The Polish Foundation of Science and the Polish Information Processing Society take the role of coordinating and monitoring the scientific work and they participate actively to run the administration of the project.

16 Recommended sub project proposals (out of 30 proposals to the consortium) were submitted to the European Commission and are extending the project in phase 2. All selected sub projects are engaged in advanced research, their work has been recognised by EU peers, and the teams have established meaningful and mutually beneficial links with European research institutions. CRIT-2 fosters academic / industrial cooperation in the European IT field.
