Objective
The participants of the Marie-Curie Early Stage Training "EURON" consist of 9 universities and 3 companies (one of them an SME) in four EU countries.
EURON will integrate Research Master Training and general/specialized Ph.D.-training for up to 36 months in an interdisciplinary research training programme focussing on the central theme "Mechanisms of Neurodegeneration and Plasticity in a life span perspective: a clinical, cognitive and fundamental approach".
The overall objective is to educate a new generation of neuroscientists who can bridge the gap between basic, cognitive and clinical neuroscience using research as training. Fellows will be competitively selected on the basis of motivation and scientific excellence. Ph.D. fellows will have an opportunity to qualify for a EURON Ph.D. degree/certificate, above and beyond their local Ph.D. degree.
The experimental neuroscientific research carried out at EURON will directly be linked to clinical questions of neurological and psychiatric diseases. The new European Master in Neuroscience enables us to attract fellows from all of Europe to provide them a highly specialized and qualified education in the broad field of experimental and clinical Neuroscience.
These qualified Master students are an ideal group to enter the graduate EURON programme or will be attractive candidates for other Neuroscience graduate programmes.
