Objective
The objective of the project is to develop a new generation of HPCN embedded platforms and a corresponding software development environment.
These platforms will feature a competitive cost/performance ratio and cost. The multiprocessor software development environment will allow a comprehensive mix of computational models comprising a complete set of modelling and simulation tools. The architecture of the hardware will integrate SHARC and PowerPC processors, Direct Switching Technology from Thomson CSF-SDC and link technology from Bull. The software technology will come from Intecs Sistemi and Simulog who will provide modelling, simulation and monitoring tools. Exploitation will come through the partners both internally for their own business uses and externally through Cetia. In particular Prakla-Seismos and Dicesva will use the system in their next generations of seismic and sound imaging systems.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
