Objective
The key objectives of DECENT are the evaluation of the potential of decentralised generation technologies in the liberalised European energy markets, the identification of success factors and impeding factors for decentralised generation and the assessment of the impacts of an increased utilisation of decentralised generation technologies on the energy sector in the Single Market, energy savings, emissions reduction, and social objectives.
In addition it will be analysed at which cost the stated benefits of the decentralised generation projects have been achieved. This update of decentralised generation technology activities in the Member States will be augmented by a synopsis of user requirements and user needs in specific areas of decentralised generation technologies. This information will be condensed and evaluated to develop recommendations for further action on Community level.
