Objective
The aim of ECIMATIS is the generation of interactive multimedia applications to be delivered on CD-ROM where general information about different regions of Europe will be shown, mainly focused in the tourist aspects but not limited to them. The main objective is to have different CD-ROMs for the various European regions that could ask for them.
The way to reach the objectives will be the generation of an interactive data entry system where all multimedia elements (sound, images, pictures, graphics, text, animations and video ) will be easily introduced and then generate automatically the applications. This process will be taken using standard authoring tools, design tools in the most standard graphic user interface, all of them according to the standards MPC, for general use in home and business.
3 important aspects which will be kept in all the applications are very high graphics quality, applications being delivered in 4 different languages and the ergonomy of the applications to make them totally intuitive and very easy to use.
ECIMATIS expects to be considered the easiest interactive multimedia information system where any village, city, landscape, region or country of Europe delivers its general information. The final CD-ROM will be delivered in 2 different versions, one that will not require additional hardware for the end user and another that will require a compression-decompression image board in order to incorporate full motion video.
