Foundation and justification of values in Aristotle's ethics

Objetivo

Aristotle is often criticized for not having treated the question, essential in modern philosophy, of the foundation and justification of values that correspond to what Aristotle calls the virtues. It is true that one doesn't find any explicit and developed treatment of this question in Aristotle's work. But are three main areas where we can reconstruct the Aristotelian response to that question: the theme of the happiness as the end of virtues; the theme of the person of practical wisdom presented as the measure of the mean which constitutes each virtue; the theme of the method of Aristotle's s ethics which is a dialectical one. Hese themes will be studied by linking them to contemporary philosophical approaches.
