String field Theory and new cosmological models

Final Activity Report Summary - STRING COSMOLOGY (String Field Theory and new Cosmological Models)

Scalar non-local cosmologies were studied and general properties of such models were established and investigated. It was shown that the non-local string field theory tachyon provided cosmological models that were very interesting from the modern point of view and capable to describe various observed phenomena including dark energy. Apart from that, these models exhibited many features that could be appreciated in real cosmological scenarios.

An explicitly covariant formulation was also presented of a modified Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati (DGP) cosmological scenario which was recently proposed, in order to avoid the instability of the self-accelerating branch.
