Exploitable results
A key result of the project is a set of software application prototypes specially suited to the communication requirements of companies of the textile-garment-retail supply chain which enable to share information concerning the product design and customer order fulfilment business processes. The management recommendations and the technological support services required to implement the software tools are also a result of the project that is available to user companies.
The proposals of the project are founded in a detailed analysis of current business practices in the textile-garment supply chain as well as in other industries where competitive drivers are time, price, customer responsiveness and quality. This analysis has enabled to identify the benefits that companies can get from developing close relationships with their business partners. The project provides the analytical tools, methodologies and reference models that enable companies to assess and to improve their business processes with a partnership development perspective. The use of advanced information technologies is also paramount to enhance performance. The project provides a set of integrated tools supporting co-operation and communication across business partners in the supply chain: fabric catalogues, garment products catalogues, videoconference systems, EDI systems and information sharing applications.
The AITEAR project is targeted to fabric manufacturers, garment manufacturers and retailers that have developed an integrated perspective of their demand driven value chain, and are aiming to develop stronger business relationships with their customers and suppliers.
To these companies, the AITEAR project offers an integrated solution of information technologies, management consultancy and technical services. The AITEAR technological platform provides a set of real time communication systems based on the Internet specially suited to the requirements of the industry: fabrics and garment electronic catalogues, information management applications, commercial (EDI) and technical data transfer systems, 3D visualization and videoconference applications. The AITEAR project also provides management and technical consultancy services to help companies re-engineer their business processes and to implement the technological solutions proposed by AITEAR.
