Objective
The MUSICAL project aimed to customise an existing music application in order to make it accessible via mobile networks. In addition, MUSICAL wanted to enhance this music application with value-added components (requiring minor additions in terms of development) so as to fully exploit the capabilities of 2.5 and Z0 networks (personalisation, ubiquity, high bandwith, etc.) and create a killer application.
MUSICAL thus enabled consumers - whether for business or leisure - to compose their Personal Radio Station Programme (PRSP) or Personal Video-Clips Programme (PVCP) and receive targeted multimedia content as well as personalised information (e.g. awareness of special events that match their music interests) through intelligent mobile devices such as palmtops, PDAs and mobile phones.
