Objective
"N.Crespi joined France Telecom R&D in 1995, where he worked on intelligent network paradigms for value added services, such as CAMEL. He also led the prepaid service project for Orange, to build an architecture now hosting more than 10 million mobile subscribers in France. He took an active role in standardization, representing France Telecom in various ETSI and 3GPP technical committees. In 1999, he joined Nortel Networks as French Telephony Program manager and was responsible for the evolution of the Switching and VoIP domains. He joined INT in 2002, leading the IP telephony team. He represents INT at 3GPP. His current research focuses on Multimedia Services over IP. The goal of this OIF is to develop a network-independent service architecture for multimedia services in an open framework so that it can be overlaid and deployed over traditional wireless cellular, and short range and emerging broadband networks. Particular attention will be put in adoption of the results in 3GPP standards.N.Crespi will j oin AIT, for training, integration in research team and participation in research projects. Training objectives of the fellowship are to develop a strong expertise on IPv6 and related mobility protocols, develop knowledge on emerging wireless broadband tec hnologies. N.Crespi will be actively participating in the Next Generation Internet project and will establish links with the French national project SUPER and its participants. The long-term objective of this OIF is to set the basis during this fellowship for a larger long-lasting scientific collaboration between European and Asian partners that should materialise in concrete research projects. In parallel to this project with AIT, INT-GET has established a joint MSc degree (start August 2005), and are working on joint PhD degree and joint research laboratory. These joint actions will further consolidate the strengthened cooperation between the partners and contribute to a long-lasting cooperation."
