New and renewable energy sources for islands and remote regions

Objective

To identify all possible energy and water problems related to islands and remote regions, such as energy and water costs, air quality, CO2 emissions and energy and water demand.

To overcome the above mentioned problems with the aid of the integration of new cleaner energy systems through the design, exploitation and application of new and renewable energy technologies scenarios.

To compare different technological scenarios for the target regions based on their dimension, geographical location, climate and socio-economic development

To perform environmental, technical and economic feasibility studies for the application of new and renewable energy technologies taking under consideration social, economic and legal aspects for different energies and sectors;

To promote the technological scenarios at the end-users for the direct implementation or for the elaboration of demonstration projects and to promote EU New and Renewable Technologies.
