CAESAR is a computationally intensive production optimization tool and therefore highly parallelized and designed to run on a network of workstations. The system comprises four main functional modules that treat the various aspects of production optimization. The Assembly Planner handles the central activity of assembly planning which determines a major part of product cost, manufacturing load and time-to-market. The Robot Motion Simulator simulates and verifies the robotic motions of assembly operations. The Resource Estimator determines the resources needed for each operation and the Scheduler plans the production approach.
