Objetivo
In 2006 two front runners of the ICT research in Poland, namely: Poznan University of Technology and Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center decided to create together a new European class research and development centre called Wielkopolska Province Centre of Advanced Information Technologies (WCZTI). It was entrusted a status of the province key project by the Marshal Office and the construction process started. One year later it was the city government which made a group of local ICT entrepreneurs and research leaders start thinking about a research-driven cluster. The main mission of the initiative was maximizing the benefits of regional ICT research infrastructure and deployment of new emerging technologies. The main project goal is to support the initiative focusing on the match-making between technologies created within the WCZTI consortium and the IT regional business industry as well as creation and promotion of a new brand – ICT Wielkopolska Cluster. The perception of the brand will allow its members to be more competitive, and flexible cooperating with each other on the one hand, and having access to the best educated staff thanks to the famous University engagement on the other.
