TIMBERFOT is a multi-lingual search capable database of pan-European information pertaining to the state-of-the-art in timber design, materials and engineering.
TIMBERFOT supports the transformation of the business process by which European Timber Councils (Information Centres) supply and distribute technical and marketing information products to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and organisations operating within the European forest and timber industry sectors. TIMBERFOT is a multi-lingual search capable database of pan-European information pertaining to the state-of-the-art in timber design, materials and engineering. TIMBERFOT is centred round the process by which the European Timber Councils (centres of technical and marketing expertise for the timber industry) supply information products to their clients:
TIMBERFOT supports the activities at each node in the process. It meets the need of the Timber Council to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their core process. By improving the effectiveness of the information supply to SMEs, they too benefit from TIMBERFOT. Since, to a large extent, the Timber Councils themselves are financed by the SMEs they serve, there is an indirect benefit to the SMEs through efficiency benefits gained by the Timber Councils.
