Objectif REALMS II intends to propose a user-oriented methodology for the implementation of BPR solutions, allowing, on the one hand, to decrease the risk of wrong investments or difficult implementation and, on the other hand, to reduce the effective implementation time and cost by 25% in comparison with classical approaches. This methodology will be validated through a complete in-field application, and disseminated towards the European mid-sized companies market.REALMS II will use the results of a preliminary feasibility study, which has demonstrated that the combination of several existing methodologies could lead to an integrated and user-oriented Business Process Methodology, dedicated to European mid-sized companies. These methodologies are: GIM (GRAI Integrated Methodology) for the modelling of Business Processes, ECOGRAI and ABC (Activity Based Costing) to measure the performances of the process, FEMOS to stimulate the dynamic behaviour of the process. The developed approach also includes benchmarking principles, leading to a complete set of tools allowing to identify and justify the choice of the activities of the Business Process to be re-engineered.Using, as a starting point, the results obtained with the application of REALMS I methodology at two users' sites and adding GEM (GRAI Evolution Methodology) for the implementation phase, the approach of REALMS II can be divided into several steps:- a consolidation of REALMS I results and the Re-engineering of the Business Process "Customer Order Flow" for the two Pilot Users,- the validation of the suitability of each potential solution,- the elaboration of the technical specifications for the potential solutions and the corresponding architecture with the classification of the implementation order,- the choice of solutions with an economic evaluation,- the implementation of the accepted solutions,- the exploitation and evaluation of the results of the implementation.REALMS II will provide a complete methodology to implement, in an efficient way, Business Process Re-engineering techniques dedicated to the European mid-sized companies. This methodology will be presented in a HANDBOOK with training material and will be illustrated by two pilot Users' sites.
