Building a concept of strategic knowledge management in small and medium-sized enterprises based on innovation transfer

Objective

SKnowInnov - creating the new method of strategic knowledge management in small and medium-sized enterprises based on innovation transfer. Decisions by SMEs as regards knowledge development are always made at a strategic level. It seems justified to combine two management fields into one scientific issue. Solving it requires defining objetives and research methodology. General objective: building a concept of strategic knowledge management in SMEs. Goals: •Building a method for planning and assessing investment in knowledge among employees •Developing a model for transfering innovation to companies •Creating a system facilitating decision making at a strategic level in terms of profitability of investment in staff knowledge. It’s necessary to develop a system of strategic knowledge management in SMEs. The project will be implemented according to individual methodology. The stages of methodology are based on goals of project. Stage 2. Literature studies concerning the concept of strategic knowledge management in companies Stage 2: Developing a method for planning and assessing investment in knowledge acquired by employees in companies Stage 3: Developing a system supporting decision making at the strategic level in terms of return on investment in knowledge Stage 4: Building an IT tool supporting decision making at the strategic level as regards profitability of investment in employees’ qualifications and skills Building a modern concept of strategic knowledge management based on experience collected in the Vienna University of Technology will enable to fill gaps on the market as regards strategic management in the form of an IT tool supporting forecasting strategic decisions in a company. The project will promote behaviour culture in scientific units and companies in the field of employee training organisation and running.
