Objective
The current proposal is devoted to the design, synthesis and investigation of chemical and physical properties of 2 2 grid-type complexes bearing biological residues, such as amino-acids, oligopeptides, nucleosides, oligonucleosides, carbohydrates or long aliphatic chains.
The project involves the following specific objectives:
- Design and synthesis of functionalized hydrazone-based ligands with side-chains bearing biological residues: amino-acids, oligopeptides, nucleosides, oligonucleosides, carbohydrate s or long aliphatic chains.
- Self-assembly of these hydrazone-based ligands with metal ions presenting preference for octahedral stereochemistry to yield cationic 2 2 grid-type complexes presenting 4, 8 or 12 side-chains.
- Self-assembly of hydrazone-base d ligands with bis(pyridyl)pyridazine ligands and metal ions showing a preference for penta-coordination in order to obtain 2 2 grid presenting 2 side-chains on one single face.
- Investigation of the capacity of biorecognition between 2 2 metallo-grid presenting 4 side-chains bearing a specific oligonucleotides sequence (codonC) and the complementary oligonucleotides sequence (anticodonAC), or between two different 2 2 metallo-grids bearing complementary oligonucleotides sequence.
¿Insertion of 2 grid-type complexes with two long aliphatic chains on one single face in lipophilic membranes and investigation of the pH-modulation of their redox and optical properties.
