Stochastic Laplacian Growth

Final Report Summary - SLG (Stochastic Laplacian Growth)

Summary:

The implementation of the scientific project resulted in in-depth training of the Fellow, together with intensive work on the central research objective and on more detailed tasks, in accordance with the scientific project "Stochastic Laplacian Growth" under the FP7 Marie-Curie programme.

The central research objective of the project was to deepen the understanding of the dynamics of unstable and stochastic interfaces, by unifying different approaches to the problem, developing new systematic approaches and exploring concrete examples of deterministic and stochastic dynamics related to Laplacian growth. The work on the main goals, that consisted in constructing new stochastic models of Laplacian growth, studying their universal characteristics and establishing links to Stochastic Loewner Evolution (SLE) and some other problems of mathematical physics, resulted to series of scientific papers. This studies brought to the Fellow new competencies in the domain of stochastic and complex dynamics, that accomplished as well the training objectives of the project.

By the end of the period, the Fellow has prepared 4 scientific articles, among which 1 is published, 2 submitted to journals and 1 is accepted for publication, and has developed a basis for further research and analysis of stochastic processes corresponding to the deterministic Laplacian growth model.

The detailed information is described in the attached document.
