Final Report Summary - ROMETA (Research on Microeconometrics: Econometric Theory and Applications)
We are pleased to report on the achievement of the ERC project ROMETA, from 1 October 2009 through 30 June 2015. In short, the project team has been successful in achieving the goals for the project. Our project has focused on the development and application of microeconometric methods, with particular emphasis on nonparametric and semiparametric methods. These are methods applicable for use with high-quality micro-level data, which has recently grown in availability, and which are essential ingredients for the understanding of economic behaviour and the impact of economic and social policy. Our research has contributed to advances in understanding identification problems and developing estimation and inference methods using micro-level data in a variety of contexts.
In about 6 years, we have produced 20 publications in academic journals, and presented our research at numerous conferences and seminars. Many are related to developing novel methods for nonparametric identification and inference and to analyzing key issues in applied microeconomics, especially in labour economics. These are exciting topics in micro-econometric theory and application. We also co-sponsored three econometrics conferences in London. The principle investigator has been awarded a consolidator ERC grant and will build his new line of research based on the research outcomes under ROMETA.
