Autenticated Time and Location for location based Applications and Services

Objective

"The ATLAS project shall cover the definition, design, development and demonstration of an enhanced GNSS time and positioning authentication service to work alongside an existing LBS application. The existing application is ""Shoot and Proof"", which provides a secure and authenticated watermarking and time/position stamping service for digital images and video captured using mobule phone technology. The addition of the ATLAS service will ensure that the time and positioning information is no longer the weak link but is also authenticated so that the images and video can be guaranteed and certified as being taken at the exact time and place refered to in the ""Shoot and Proof"" service.

In parallel to the technical developments and demonstrations, the project shall also examine issues that concern the business and in particular, how the ATLAS service can add value to the existing ""Shoot and Proof"" service and increase the trust, confidence, reliance and market appeal for authentication services."
