Improving maintenance and after sales service in the catering machine industry by introducing intelligent monitoring and control systems

Objective

Maintenance costs and flexibility, as well as post sales services are becoming more important in global competition. Many European manufacturers have machines installed at different sites all over the world. MASS aims to encourage these to take advantage of emerging teleservice and remote maintenance concepts to deal with the diverse problems related to maintenance costs, greater needs in the area of flexibility and availability as well as extensive machine down-time.
The objective of MASS is to integrate engineering, maintenance and after sales operations by implementing distributed IT-systems for real-time monitoring and control. The result of the MASS project will be a multi-vendor pilot installation at an end-user site, enabling flexible engineering and the remote maintenance of six typical groups of gastronomic machines and equipment.
