MASS (Maintenance and After Sales Service in the Gastronomy Machine Industry by introducing intelligent monitoring and control systems) integrates engineering, maintenance and after sale operations by implementing distributed IT- systems for real-time monitoring and control in the gastronomical machine industry. The result is a multi-vendor pilot installation at an end-user site, enabling flexible engineering and the remote maintenance of typical groups of gastronomical machines and equipment.
The pilot installations show products of the catering industry (coffee machine, bar, cashier etc.) connected by a control network and exchanging data. The prototype shows:
-improved maintenance and service facilities,
-easier development of new automation products,
-optimization of work flow and management overview,
-easier extension and modification.
