Objective
Globeman21 aims to develop the framework of globally networked manufacturing in the 21st century and to promote its deployment in industry, thereby enhancing European competitiveness.
The project focuses on developing generic, collaborative business models for extended enterprises in addition to addressing issues related to product life-cycle support. Particular elements of this framework will be validated and best practices identified in several industrial pilots. The complete framework will be tested by a joint demonstrator.
The partners will exploit the results as they become available. The results will be disseminated widely to European industry, with a special focus on SMEs. IT vendors will be targeted for further tools development.
