Final Report Summary - MICROMANUFACTURING (Multi-scale material modeling for micro-manufacturing of micro-feature arrays on large surface areas)

PI has performed experimental investigations to establish an overall understanding on micro-manufacturing technology, applications and challenges. He conducted experiments on fuel cell bipolar plates and biomedical implants, which are based on micro-channel and porous micro-bump arrays produced by micro-manufacturing. He investigated formability issues of such micro-channels as well as studied the interactions between micro-manufacturing parameters and product surface quality, corrosion and contact resistance issues of bipolar plates and implants.
