Final Report Summary - NANOP (Nanoporous Membranes for High Throughput Rare Event Bio-analysis)

As part of NanoP, a novel analytical platform was developed to detect and identify DNA at low concentration in a high throughput manner at the single molecule level. Much of the work has resulted in a better understanding of molecular behaviour in relation to the detection of "rare events" with biological fluids. The technology opens the door for such methods to be used as a diagnostic tool for various types of diseases.
