A POINT-OF-CARE BIOCHIP FOR HIV MONITORING IN THE DEVELOPING WORLD

Final Report Summary - HIVBIOCHIP (A POINT-OF-CARE BIOCHIP FOR HIV MONITORING IN THE DEVELOPING WORLD)

The ERC project helped to develop sub-microsystems for trapping and imaging/counting of white blood cells from 1 microliter of whole blood. Such sub-microsystems can be further integrated into a portable platform for the point-of-care monitoring of the state of various diseases, such as AIDS. Those sub-microsytems are mass produced at low cost and therefore they are suitable for use in the developing world where resources are limited.
