Objective
"The city of Zaragoza is located between Madrid and Barcelona in the region of Aragon. Zaragoza has a long tradition of events at European level, so the city is ready to hold an event like this one.
The Researchers Night in Zaragoza, ""Research in real life"" is conceived to show the researchers like normal people, and how their job is related with the daily life of the citizens. Research is behind the most simple act of our daily life. From the start of the day when we turn on the light, until the end of the day when we brush one's teeth.
The central point of this project is the mass participation, we expect more than 10000 visitors. We have held similar events at regional dimension with researchers involvement in demonstration activities. In this case the effort will be done in show de European dimension of research.
The three entities involved have long experience in working together on events for popularization of science. Esciencia (SME) is dedicated to coordinate, manage and develop activities to popularization of science. The Aragon Government is the institution which holds more actions in popularization science, since 2005. The University of Zaragoza is the most important research center in the regio of Aragon.
The entire activities plan has a meeting point; they are design to increase the active participation of public. Fun, research and meeting with researchers will be together. Researchers will play a central role.
Researchers Night is a great opportunity to mantain a Open Science Event for public in our city, where no Science Museum or similar institution is present."
