Final Report Summary - NOVGRAPHENE (Novel uses for graphene)
The main goal or the project was the development of models for the understanding of novel properties of graphene and other two dimensional materials. Emphasis was put on: i) the coupling of strains and electronic degrees of freedom, ii) features involving the spin of the electrons, and iii) optical properties. The project envisaged a comprehensive theoretical approach to the study of these topics. The work supported by the project has led to significant breakthroughs in all the areas mentioned above. The project is acknowledged in more than 80 scientific articles, which have received so far over 4.000 citations. These articles cover all the aspects mentioned above.
